Should I keep my kids home?

Any time my kids show any sign of being sick, a sniffle or cough I want to keep them home from school but obviously that's silly. However tonight they both had 1 instance of diarrhea...just one. They weren't acting sick otherwise. Should I keep them home tomorrow?

I wouldn't. If there's a second one I would.

How long has it been since the last bout of it? Have they eaten or drank anything since?

I'd send them in and just let whoever needs to know aware that you're on call to pick them up in an instant. :)

The only reason to keep kids home is if they have a fever that is when they are contaigous

for 1 episode of diarrhea, I would send them to school.

I would say since they both had it, it was probably something they ate.

Which would mean it's not contagious.

I'd wait and see how they feel in the morning when they wake, but probably not.

DS and dd both eat a ton of fruit.  He's almost 9 and occasionally barely makes it to the toilet.

I'd say if it's just one they are okay to go, especially if they are able to get to the bathroom quickly (are mature enough to ask to go right away and don't have a hateful teacher that will make them hold it).
