Why do some moms do that?  I wouldn't bump my own post more than once.  I don't want to seem....I don't know what the word would be......selfish?  That's probobly not the right word, but its the only one I can come up with right now lol.

... Perhaps, because it's late at night (or, way early in the morning), and not enough people responded for the OP to get a full spectrum of opinions on her post.

I do if it's gotten lost and I haven't gotten answers. How is it selfish?

Attention whore?  I dunno.  Sometimes when I see people bumping their own posts where there's more bumps from them then comments from other people, I tend to think "Attention whore".

Obnoxious is the word you're looking for, however in a group this size, it's not.  There are so many posts that just fly to page two or three that if they're not bumped several times, no one might ever read it.

Especially if there's drama going on...

I don't like bumping my own post, but things get lost in the shuffle so easily here, it's hard to avoid.

If you're having to bump your post 30 times just to get a few replies, you can bet that no one is interested and give it a rest.

Unfortunately, some of the best, most interesting or most important posts around here go unnoticed.

I posted about a fire that broke out inside Houston City Limits the other day and got like 10 people who actually gave a crap, it was ridiculous.

I'd rather see them bump than say something like 'I guess since it's not drama...' blah blah blah. Guilt trips don't work on me. lol.
