I am making pulled chicken sandwiches for dinner tonight.  I put the chicken breast in the crock pot on high at 9.   At 10:30 I realized I didn't plug it in. 0.o Grrrr...now I'm afraid it isn't going to be cooked in time.  I figured at least 6 hours to cook (I'm making 15 chicken breasts) and another hour or two to just let it sit in the bbq sauce after I shred it.  Now, I don't have time.  Should I boil the chicken in broth first then shred and bbq it?

You can put it on high for 4 hours and low for the rest.  That should work.

I don't think 4 hrs will be enough with how much is in there??  It's probably about 12 lbs of chicken.

Just set it on high for less hours.

Well depends what time you want it done by.

Well setting it on high will cut your cooking time by about 2-3 hours.

It has to be done done by 6 but I'd like to shred it at about 3.  Will that much chicken cook in 4 1/2 hours?  If it was less chicken I wouldn't be worried about it.

it will be fine. if you are doing it with chicken breasts you cuold just put it on low not high, and it would cook in time. i use my crockpot all the time.
