The National EAS? it makes me wonder if the government knows something is about to happen!!

The emergency alert system? I remember those as a kid and every so often they go through the channels and run them... I don't think it means anything, personally.

i think it is safe to say our world teeters on 'something about to happen' 24/7. with all of the crazy dynamics in our international relationships a crisis is prob diverted on a reg basis.

I'm thinking unless they interrupt internet and netflix/hulu/etc then they will be missing the point. If the goal is to alert EVERYONE then they're going to fall short. 

As far as "why" I guess time will tell. My family is prepared to go back to the dark ages so it's all good.

They just did a national broadcast is why I'm curious! It hasn't been done before according to online news! Why now?

The test was supposedly national...like all radio, satellite, tv any sort of broadcast...mind you it was only 30 seconds long....

Its never been national before. Until now, EAS was done locally. This is the first time theyve been able to do it nation wide...which is why they did the test.
