To those who don't get your kids vax'd....

Have any of you had trouble getting your kids in public school or daycare?

I have a 2 year old, who has just gotten all his shots, because we had to put him daycare.  I wasn't planning on vaxing him, but we didn't have a choice. No daycare in our area would take him.

Have any of you ran into this? How did you handle it? Are there ways around it?

There are waivers. We haven't had to deal with that yet though.

You need to file a state exemption.

Did he handle the shots well?If he can,I encourage you to continue, just slow it down. One shot at the time to watch for reactions. If you just do not want to vaccinate again, that is cool too.Just get an exemption from the health department!

I vax so idk. It sucks in order to do what you need to do that you had to vaccinate. If they're private I guess they can require it though.

Well, we never had Melanie in day care so I never ran into that issue. When she started scho last year, I had her exempt. I think its ridiculous that they won't accept kids who aren't.. but I guess it could be a liability. I look at it as discrimination though.

You need a waiver. The schools don't mention that part to you.

I'm rather new to this. Where would I get the waiver? He has gotten all his shots until he's 4. I don't want to do again. I would like to be more prepared by the time he goes to pre-K.

He handled them quite well actually. I'm quite new to all this, but I didn't know were to get the exemption from. Thanks!
