Should I go??? (veterans ceremony)

Tomorrow my son's school is having a ceremony for Veterans.  I would love to go, but not sure if I should.  I am a Veteran.  But I feel like since I was not deployed I should not go.  (if that makes sense) I was in for 5 years and was an E5 (sgt) when I got out.  Hubby says I should go, but IDK.  What do you think?  Not many people know that I was in the Army.  Quite frankly I wonder if they would believe me or not. lol

Definitely, you should be proud of your service and your son should be too!

you served your country. deployed or not i think you deserve recognition for doing what only 1-2 percent of the country will volunteer to do. the ones in combat/deployed couldn't be there if it werent for the ones that are behind supporting them...its a machine and they all serve as a cohesive part that makes it work. all are valuable :)

I wasn't even in the military but I'm going to my kids' Veterans ceremony because they're performing in it.  Their father is a Veteran, as is 3 of their uncles, but none of them could get off of work to attend.

I say go.  If you were active duty during the war, then you are a Veteran.

my husband is like you. he will not really take part in anything for veterans day because he feels its not for him (even though he IS a veteran). i say go, you served so you are a veteran!
