popsicle stick jewelry boxes

One craft that is great is popsicle stick jewelry boxes. All you need to make this is popsicle sticks (you can buy them or save them), glue, and paint. Some kids like to add glitter or other d├ęcor to the box and those can be purchased or salvaged from around the house. To make the box, you simply take the popsicle sticks and layer them; gluing them together as you stack them. Then you make the lid in the same fashion. Paint the box and add decorations as desired and you have a simple craft!

pipe cleaner dinos

This dino wasn't very stable

  • Pipecleaners, $1 or on hand
  • Googly eyes, on hand
  • Pen, on hand
  • Glue, optional

Total cost: Free and up

Time Needed: 15 minutes

Ages: 3 and up. Your 3 year-old will need help, but will probably really enjoy the end result! She'll like to coil pipecleaners around a pen, so be sure to let her do it along with you as you make one. Also, pipecleaners are easy to bend, so these toys won't last for long with younger kids, but it's still a fun activity.
