Is Anyone Here a Nurse or Medical Worker?

What's a deal breaker for when an infected wound needs to be seen by a doctor?

What is something that I should look out for that means I need to be seen?

Please bump - and yes I've googled it, but every site says something different.

If its infected you should see a doctor so he can get you some antibiotics or something if you need them or tell you how to treat it. If its not getting better that would be a warning sign. If youre questioning it this much you might want to get it looked at. Better safe than sorry.

It depends on the wound. Generally, redness around the wound/wound is warm or hot to touch, foul odor, and drainage can be signs of infection.

If you know it is infected, then it needs to be seen. If it is red around the wound and/or has red streaks coming from it, you need to be seen.

Basically I've seen wounds where body parts were amputated because the infection got so bad and they waited so long :( better safe than sorry
