Really? My son will have no imagination if we don't do Santa? Yesterday at the mall:

Ds: He's just a man dressed in a suit, right Mama?
Me: Yes, Sweetheart.

Later that day he is marching through the house with a plastic sword:

Me: What are you doing Micah?
Ds: Going to kill the dragon.
Me: Ok.

No imagination my eye!!!

EDIT: He will be five the 17th.

Yeah, we do Santa Claus and I've never understood how people associate one with the other....that's basically saying that any child who doesn't participate in Christmas has no imagination too.....really!?!?

The logic in that is where?

I never did Christmas and I'm a fictional novelist, but of course I have no imagination ;)

My DD has the best imagination and always has. :)

I've never heard that as an argument but it's as ridiculous as saying Christmas doesn't have magic without an obese man breaking into your house. Yeah, okay.

Wow, really!  It seems to be a Cafemom favorite. lol  Usually goes something like...

"Yes, we do Santa Claus.  I like to let my kids use their imagination."

LOLLLLL

"Going to kill the dragon."

My almost three year old has no clue about Santa (well she knows the character but not the myth and magic), and her imagination is SOOOOO humongous. I had no idea three year olds could have this much imagination.

What if he came up to you tomorrow and said he does believe in santa despite what you say? If he can imagine slaying dragons, he can imagine santa.

We do not do Santa but yet my child has a good imagination..........lol it usually has to do with hunting and fishing but hell, at least he knows how to think without videogames.
