Gingrich is a tool. with that being said i don't think that the second language a person learns should be Spanish necessarily. Japanese, mandarin, and some middle eastern dialects would be very valuable in certain circumstances over Spanish. i took Spanish in high school though since the only two languages offered were French and Spanish. i think our language options in school should be more varied but then again that would require them to fund schools more and apparently they are against that.

I completely agree.  All my schools from middle school and up offered Spanish, French, and German.  Um, what about non-European languages?

Come on now, don't be too intimidated to give me your reasoning for agreeing with him.

I learned French. It helped me a lot when I went to France. Imagine that.

Having taught in public elementary schools for almost a decade, I can say that bilingual education is a farce.

I think its good we all learn...but..i have an
Issue because my sons school starts
Spanish in kindergarten and I think they should
Focus on learning proper english first.
Im proud that my nine yr old can count to one
Hundred in spanish and knows some other stuff ...his
Latino dr is really impressed too...but id like them
To teach him to use correct grammer first.
