And is now facing deportation. The kicker? He is MARRIED to a US citizen. But.....he is gay. So it doesn't count. Freaking ridiculous.

So splitting up a married couple is 'defending marriage' now, huh? What a load of crap.

The ironic part is, I went to a Catholic high school. He and his husband sent their kids to a private, Catholic grade school. This man has never hid his life. Even the Catholic church, who is openly against gay marriage was always accepting of him and his family.

I don't believe in homosexuality but this law is stupid.  The man has been here for 20 years and obviously has a work visa to work in the USA, possible a residency permit and it's stupid to ship him back to his country.  What next, are we going to deport all people who don't conform to America's ideals? Or people who don't speak English? Why not just close our damn borders to everybody in the world?

Page 2 of the article:

In February, President Barack Obama ordered the Justice Department to stop defending the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act. Despite the order, the administration will continue to enforce the law.
