If your job does not provide health insurance...

What do you do? DH and I both work, but neither of our jobs provide health insurance. We have four kids and I am trying to find insurance that we can purchase on our own. Does anyone have insurance that is not to expensive and also has decent coverage? Any other suggestions?

Oh I get mine through my DH's work.

But yes you can purchase private insurance.

Good luck

our premium is 1200 a month.

SO's job pays for his insurance (he pays nothing at all) and he has amazing coverage.

When dh had a job without benefits we were also poor enough to qualify for state medical.  have you tried googling it?  I think a lot of insurance companies offer plans for individuals as well as companies, so maybe start researching plans from cmpanies you have had in the past?

We go through Providence Health Plans. The coverage is decent. We pay $335 a month for me and the kids. DH has health issues and is considered *uninsurable* so his is almost $600 a month.

I am self employed. Private insurance for me, dh, and 4 kids would be like $2500/month. I have been trying to find something more affordable, but no luck

We wouldn't take a job that did not provide medical insurance.
