So my sil has a dd a month older than my dd.

Today we set up a play date.
My hubs,I and my dd went to go pick them up to bring them to our apartment, We were on our way to my apartment when my niece starts coughing heavily. So I asked is J sick? She says "mmhm with a cough and a running nose".
Why didn't she tell us this before we drove 30 to pick them up? I would have cancled!

To make a long story short my hubs drove her and her daughter back home..

I apologized and told her we could set up a play date another day.

My dd is almost one and luckily hasn't gotten sick of a cold or fever once. :)

Wouldn't you cancel a playdate if your little one is sick.

These were not allergies.

My sil was sick from strep last week so I'm hoping its not what's going around the house!!

UPDATE
my hubs got a call from my sil boyfriend. Their daughter is in the hospital with a 102 fever. My sil doesn't want her brother to know so her boyfriend called.

I guess it was contagious,I'm glad I cancled.

I hope my neice feels better soon

Yes, unless it was allergies or asthma which my son has all the time but obviously aren't contagious.

I wouldn't worry about allergies or asthma. :)

Allergies are no fun,I used to have them bad as a kiddo.

Depends, is the snot green? If so, then yes, I would call, because she is contagious then. . If it's clear, it's no big deal. Babies get sick, a lot. It's good for their immunity systems. Most babies have 6-8 colds per year and it's no big deal unless it goes into pnemonia or they get dehydrated or it's more serious.Daycares won't refuse a baby that has a cough and a runny nose though. A fever or dyarhea is another story.
