In my home state,you can be charged with cruelty to a child if you commit an act of violence in front of a child.(Domestic violence,etc)
I don't know if that is new but I LIKE it!

That explains something someone told me about 3 months ago that I thought was strange.
They took a friend's grandson and charged the mom and the dad with cruelty to children.The man never hit her daughter,her daughter hit him and my friend said he was charged because it was an ongoing thing and he did not take the child and leave!
