My sons school is doing "candy grams" for valentines day...you pay a dollar and fill out a form and send someone a hershey bar...
They did this when I was in school too and I think its going to promote hurt feelings for lots of little girls...
My dh agrees that the school should make sure all kids get one first...because the unpopular girls will be left feeling sad...
Im not feelin it

Our school does the same but the teachers always buy one for everyone in their class.

I see where you are coming from, but at some point kids are going to find out that life is unfair.

If you feel that strongly about it, why don't you purchase them for every kid in the class?

This is where the "everyone is a winner" crap needs to stop.  Yes, someone will get their feelings hurt.  They will get over it and it is not too early to learn that not everyone gets everything.  Grr! To answer your question, yes, you are being ridiculous.  Put the bubble wrap away.

When I was at school we had roses for valentines day. The same girls always got tons. Shit happens. Kids have to learn. Its not about popularity its about caring.

Every kid gets a candy bar, every kid makes the team, and as an adult when they hear 'NO' for the first time, they don't know how to handle rejection.  Life isn't fair.

Well there comes a time when children need to realize that not everyone is going to like them. I think you are being ridiculous
