Sheriff's deputies use Taser on woman blocking McDonald's drive-through
A staff report Cumberland County sheriff's deputies used a Taser stun gun on a woman who refused to move out of a McDonald's drive-through lane this afternoon. A sheriff's spokeswoman said 37-year-old Evangelina Marrerro-Luka of the 100 block of Snow Hill Church Road had been parked at the Legion Road fast food restaurant's window for 20 minutes by the time deputies arrived. Staff at the restaurant reported that Marrerro-Luka drove her Ford Taurus directly to the pickup window, bypassing the order screen and payment window, and asked to order her food there, said Debbie Tanna, the Sheriff's Office spokeswoman. Employees told the woman there wasn't a register at that window, Tanna said. "She refused to move and became belligerent," Tanna said. Tanna said Marrerro-Luka was angry when deputies arrived. They performed a "drive-stun" on her, meaning that the stun weapon was held against her body rather than firing probes from a distance. Marrerro-Luka will be charged with second-degree trespass, Tanna said. Social workers took custody a 3-year-old child who was in the car, she said.
