i just left my moms i had some things to pick up and i had to let the dog out to go to the bathroom because she's gone. while i was there i noticed mail with my daughters name on it that hadn't been opend........so i grabbed it and looked over and saw a $618.00 electricity bill for the month of february it's due on feb 7 and my mom left for the weekend to go see some guy she's seeing in traverse city.
apparently mom has been letting bills go for this man that she's seeing and my brother i know it's none of my business but all my bills are caught up and if she would've asked i would've gladly put something on it for her. should i confront her about it and tell her my daughter and i are moving back in with her to help with her bills or let it go and mind my own business? when i was living with her i'd go pay these things for her but she's been acting like a teenager ever since she met this guy and expects everyone else to bail her out when she needs it.
i enjoy my freedom too much to just let her run over me and try and tell me how to raise my daughter the way she did while i was living there. she's living in her child hood home and ours(mine and my brothers) i'm afarid she's going to lose it. she's damn near 50 but acts like she's 16, the guy that she's seeing is 38 and broke with no job (he lost his job at the corner store) who can't even help her with her bills. she even got two speeding tickets she had to go to another city to pay!
i love my mom and want to help her but i won't help her if she's going to act childish her bills are not my responsibility anymore but she's gotta do something.........

Why is her electric bill in your daughter's name? That will ruin her credit even before she has a chance to have it.
It didn't have her daughter's name on it. She saw mail with her daughters name, grabbed it and then glance over and saw the bill.
Op-don't say or do anything and do not bail her out. You will turn into an enabler. She will eventually wake up...or not.
I misread that too...whew!

my brother is 28 with three kids and a step daughter he has a job but he's in trouble with the system so my mom is helping him with his bills. i struggle but my daughter and i are just fine my bills are paid up every month and i still have money left over and am living off $712.00 a month i've gotten the offer to move to ann arbor from a good friend of mine he lives on his own and is going to school and i just might take my daughter and move there with him, i worry about my mom because there is no heat in her house (the heater just went) but she's got space heaters and the oven to use.
