If you go grocery shopping once a month or twice a month....

Do you still go out weekly for fruits and veggies or do you not really eat fresh stuff.

I buy frozen vegetables for sides, but I always have peppers, onions, and tomatoes in my crisper. My fruit bowl is ginormous and nothing I have lasts more than 5 or 6 days before it goes bad. How do you do it?

We usually end up with fresh fruits and veggies for the first week or so after shopping. Our potatoes and etc. last forever because we get the big 50 pound bags. Other than that we mostly eat canned and frozen fruits and veggies. The only things we consistantly go out and get weekly or every few days are bread, butter, milk, drinks.

I shop once a week.

I plan our meals weekly so I just buy for one week at a time.  I find it to be easier and I like having fresh fruits and veggies in the house at all times  :)

That makes sense. I hear people all the time saying they shop once a month, or every two weeks and I'm thinking...........HOW? lol

I can't get fruit to last longer than a few days. I don't mean it goes bad. I mean the kids devour it. I bought 5 pounds of apples Wednesday. I have 2 apples left this morning.

I go a few times a week to a few different places. Farmers market for fruit and veggies and two supermarkets for meat and staples. It's prob not cost effective but I don't have a extra freezer and we eat alot of perishables so it works for us.

That's what I do. My kids eat like 21 pieces of fruit each week without counting what my husband and I eat. We have to have fresh fruit in the house. I shop weekly and buy really green bananas so we still have fruit on Friday. lol

I buy frozen veggies. SO & DS both love blueberries & grapes but they like them frozen. So when we get home I just wash them off, put them in a bowl & stick 'em in the freezer.
