Don't stay at a ritz Carlton, stay at A super 8

Thats what I was told today. The inlaws read online that I had booked a weekend at the Ritz Carlton for our family vacation. Apparently they believe you should only stay in Super8 motels and days inn when you have kids.

I'm so sick of them butting into our lives financially. The fact that they have the gall to accuse me of being too flippant about our money outrages me. If I'm planning a trip, no matter how last minute it seems, I have the money needed. And even with staying at this hotel, we have $1200 saved specifically for this trip left to spend. My kids won't be suffering at all, the trip will be full of fun things, like the aquarium, the zoo, possibly the children's museum. And my long awaited trip to Ikea (lol!! Yes that was a huge part in deciding where to go for this trip)

I'm just so sick of it. They attack me for spending too much money and not thinking about the future but in the same breath ask for money. Wtf.

I'd be very selective about what info I share with them, but that sucks, I'm sorry.

I thought I had hidden them both from the fb status I made about it, but I hid only one.

Everything else is simply "observations" they make when they see our kids dressed a certain way or something new we've bought or whatever.

Yes!!! It was a toss up between Atlanta and new Orleans, but we already did the aquarium in NO, and I wasn't impressed so I decided to skip on the weekend trip.

Is the aquarium/zoo nice? I'm used to south florida aquarium in Tampa so I want something that's comparable for the kiddies.

We only stay at nice hotels as well. Now that we have kids we spend more time in the hotel, bedtime and such. A nice hotel is an absolute must.

Forget them! Enjoy your trip :)

My husband used to tell his parents everything about our money...down to how much our bills were a month and how much we spent on a car or a pair of shoes. IMO- as I was raised, finances are private. It is nobodies business knowing those things. I wouldn't share that stuff w/ people if you don't want their opinions on it.

Not trying to bash...I just learned the hard way from DH. It sucked! Since I told him NOT to mention our finances to anyone again...they have kept their mouth shut. (well as much as INLAWS will do)
