Srsly.

Being a military spouse is fucking hard. Sure, it's a choice, but it's not an easy one.

Being a military spouse has perks. Some better than others, nothing compensates for the loss some of us have felt, but some things are sure worth putting in a few extra hours a day for.

This is life. In general.
We, every person, takes pride in something. We all have regrets. We all think life is a bitch, at times. We all make the best of our situations, etc., etc.

Personally, my husband is a soldier. His rank is unimportant. I'm proud.
My husband was a civilian. I was proud.
My husband was a paramedic. I was proud.
My husband lost his job. I was proud, still.
My husband is a nurse. I'm proud.
My husband is a damn good father and partner. Guess what? I'm proud?

We are good people, with things to be proud of. This applies to most everyone. That's life. Let it go, dudes.

I'm very proud of my airman. <3

But even if he weren't in the Air Force, I'd still be proud of him. As long as he has a job (or was actively looking for one) & supporting us as a family, I will be proud of him.

Why does everyone think military spouses deserve perks? Or respect.

I fail to understand this concept.

You know... I'm fairly certain I said that military spouses were just like everyone else, or something like that.

Omigosh, your ds's hair! What a cutie!

Ah, I wish my desktop wasn't packed up right now! I have THE best one. When Dh's unit came back last time they gave all the soldiers a single rose to give to their someone special. In the background of one of my pictures is a soldier bent down on one knee. He's holding the rose out to his little girl, with tears streaming down his face. Love it so much!
