My son will be 2 in April. The last few weeks he has started spitting in your face if he is mad at you. I have tried timeout (which works with everything else) and he spits the entire time he is in time out. I have tried lightly smacking his mouth and he tries to hit me back. What do I do?

I would lightly tap his mouth and say No. If he tried to hit me back, I would stop his hand and say No.

Wow that's awful! I wouldn't know what to do either! Sorry, here's a bump though

Hugs! I am not sure, but maybe the moms in the

Toddlers & Preschoolers

  group could help!

My dd 2.5 started doing that... extremely briefly... doesnt do it anymore. I poped her in the mouth (not hard) sat her down and explained that you DO NOT spit on people, if you need to spit, you do it outside only. She has never done it again.
