My 3 yr old had SPD and is developmentally delayed. Potty training is going snail paced due to him having no interest in it. I don't think he feels the urge to go or when he is going.

Now here is the problem. All day he has been freaking out saying he has to puke in the bucket. Every time he doesn't puke, but in a few minutes he will poop. Could he be feeling the need to poop, and confusing it with the feeling of puking?

I plan on calling his doctor in the morning, but just want to see if anyone has dealt with this.

I have no idea what SPD is. I have a feeling he's just confusing the words.

Sensory Processing Disorder.

I don't think he is confusing words. He knows what puking is and any time before today when he says it - he has puked in the bucket. He kept sticking his head in the bucket today.

OOo i re-read your post. I guess he could be confusing the 2 feelings (not the words). That would be my guess. I haven't had to deal with it though so I"ll give ya another bump!
