New S/O. Would you think it was okay for a dad to shoot his 4 year old's toy and destroy it?

Why or why not?

NOTE: I have asked very specific questions here, and would love to hear answers.  You are welcome to continue to discuss the other post, or even to call me names (although I do not appreciate it), but I would also love to hear people answer the question.  That is...unless you can't answer it?

I am clearly trying to prove a point, and the fact that I am getting very few answers says to me that people don't know what the h*%$ they are talking about.  Prove me wrong.

No, because a child that age is more likely to be scared and not understand what why the dad was doing it. A 15-16 year old, especially one that lives in a rural area (which, judging from the video, that family does), probably wouldn't be afraid of guns to begin with, and would not have trouble understanding that his/her dad did that because he/she was being a little shithead.

No.  The four year old would be too young to understand.  Now a teenager is quite old enough to get the point.

So it is not okay for a 4 year old because it is scary? Why is it scary? What if the 4 year old isn't there, but the dad videos it and shows it to him?

And isn't it funny that the kid now thinks it's a joke and wants to shoot more of her stuff to post online so her friends can laugh...

Good lesson dad...

the way i would handle the discipline of my 16 year old and the way i would handle the disciplin of a four year old or two differentthings. i doubt that the four year old would really be able to understand what is going on with that situation the way a 16 year old would. time outs still work at that age effectively and they also aren't dog cussing their parents and telling them they will be on their own when they are in need of help later on down the line...usually a 4 year old is just whinnyand needs to be redirected. if my 16 year old said the things that little girl said id tell him ' i moved out when i was 17 and was still in high school you want to act like a grown up feel free to pack your stuff and act like one but remember I'm not paying your bills and everything in this house stays here with me that i bought'
