I see people say it's dangerous. Then i see others say that if its done right its not dangerous. I kinda 1/2 co-sleep with my 1 month old and I'd like to make sure to do it safely. What is the safe way? I didn't do it with my oldest so i need to know the "rules" so to speak.

It's safe if you-
Keep pillows, blankets, and toys away from baby in the bed
Don't abuse drugs or alcohol (or take a medication that interferes with your sleep)
Don't have a sleep disorder such as night terrors, trouble waking, or extremely deep sleep
That applies for your SO if he/she sleeps with you, too. And it's also safest if you're breastfeeding.

No prescription pain killers, drugs or alcohol so you are aware. No heavy blankets. Don't put baby next to heavy sleepers. No pillows for baby. And they say its safer if mom isn't obese. I don't get that one. I have a plus size friend who cosleeps and she doesn't see how her size makes a difference

She sleeps in bend of my arm. With my arm kinda around her. We are both hot sleepers so we only use a sheet and IM an extremely light sleeper. My husband is in a different. State then us right now so that's not an issue lol does that all sound good?

There isn't, in my opinion.
But, there are people that do so and do so successfully...I just think the risks outweigh the benefits.

I slept with my babies curled up in my arm while I slept on my side. Then I was super aware if they moved and it made me not move either. No heavy blankets over baby either.

I don't see how that matters either. That's weird.

I agree with the other posters. Also, don't co sleep on the couch, or with the bed next to the wall. If possible, put the mattress on the floor, they will roll off at least once until they learn where the edge of the bed is. I co-slpet with all 4 of my kids and wouldn't have it any other way. It's way safer than having them alone in their crib. Did you know that when a baby sleeps with the mom, and she breathes on them, it actually regulates their breathing and reduces the risk of sids?
