Do you go to the circus?

My husband is so anti-circus due to the treatment of many of the animals that I don't think my son will ever see one.

I can't go and support something that I feel is wrong, personally. But, that's just me. I don't give a shit what anyone thinks either...but I do care about animals.

I have never been and wont go... I have always been anti circus but didn't really know about the treatment of animals till recently... I just hate the idea of traveling and being forced to do tricks....
My inlaws were suppose to take the kids last summer but luckly they got sick so I didn't have to explain myself.

I've taken my older kids once. It's just not something I feel like we need to do.

I hadn't seen one since I was a child and we took dd and my little brother last year. It was horrible. Not only was it boring as hell, I was disgusted at the treatment of the animals. The tigers refused to do anything the guy wanted so the workers were jabbing them with sticks to get them off their stools. Then the thing they hit the elephants with turns my stomach. I'm not all gung ho PETA or anything, and was really looking forward to going, but I left totally sickened.

I never been to one either. I'd like to go, but I heard the horror stories of animal abuse, so it's still questionable.

And I am sorry, but if someone is stupid enough to sit their children up on an elephant, and the elephant goes wild, that's their own damn fault. Elephants aren't meant to be ridden. Ugh. Sorry, I think about it and start getting worked up.

My Dad took me to Circus Vargas when it was in town in about 1982.

Hated it. Even as a 12 y/o I knew that the animals were not happy or well cared for. never been to another since, nor have my kids been.
