Easy to Get Away With Religious Fraud

I have found that anyone who says that they have had anything to do with God, is automatically believed by millions of faithful, with no evidence whatsoever. The problem with this is that while some (and perhaps even *many* although I wouldn't go so far as to say *most*) of these claims might be 100% true, a great deal of them are not.

They are scams, perpetrated by people who have noticed the same trend as I have. Have a kid who has had a "near death experience" and "talked to God" ... write a book. People will buy it, they have to. After all, what kind of Christian wouldn't believe a child?!?!?!

The sad fact is, it's easier to scam religious people, because you're programmed to believe things that cannot be proven, and programmed even harder to defend that which cannot be proven, even when evidence points to the story being false. All you have to do is make up a good story, and stick to it, and BAM, the money starts rolling in.

Thoughts?

Yes. When the religion dissuedes or downright forbids questioning, it's inevitable that some people will take advantage of it for monetary gain.

Because your post raised an interesting question in my mind ... so I posted it.

I don't see why it's offensive to you. The fact is religious fraud exists, and the people who should be most upset by it are the ones who most often shove cotton in their ears and shut their eyes tight to it.

Oh and then the good part. "ministerial exception" provided by the first amendment in the constitution prevents the government to interfer in many instances because it would be infringing on their freedom of religion!

Ask me if I care what you think, I really don't, how's that for thinking?
