Does anybody know anything about car transmissions or SO that does
I have a Chrysler Sebring and I and a little distraught that my transmission may be screwed up.
Heres what its doing, one in a while when slowing down from about 2nd to 1st gear it jumps into gear kinda hard. It did this a lot two weeks ago when it was really cold and now it does it every once in a while. My warrenty runs out on my car soon I just hope it isnt the whole transmission HELP
Sounds like the torque converter is slipping.
Have you checked your fluid level? When was the last time you had it flushed, did they notice any metal shavings in the pan?
its going in the shop tomorrow. I have not ever had it flushed because I got the car about 5 months ago and my fiance check the fluid and said it was fine but I dont believe him because he thinks he knows everything about everything lol im trying to figure out what it is because I know a whole transmission plus labor is freaking expensive

Check the fluid yourself, the car should be running, in park on level ground, apply the parking brake for extra caution.
How many miles?

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the transmission.
Good luck, hopefully your warranty will cover any repairs it may need.

If you are unsure about the fluid, get it checked by someone before taking it in. If the repair shop notes low fluid, it could void your warranty.

Ours did that for a long time and we had to have a new transmission. It was our third transmission in 129,000 miles - insane!!!!
