SAHM's, how do you feel about this statement..

I'm just curious, as a friend (a working mom) recently said this to me and my other friend, also a sahm...

"I do all that you do, PLUS I work."

I'm not saying that one is harder than the other (working vs. stay at home), but do you feel the above is an accurate statement regarding working moms?

If you have a full time babysitter then that statement is not true obviously.

Your friend sounds like she lacks any sense of empathy or decorum.

I think that is possible. It would depend. Is there a sahd or a dad period? Do they have a nanny or house keeper?
If there isn't help then yes I think that is accurate.
I applaud all the woman that work. I could never do it. I had a job for three days and it was too hard.

One is not easier or harder than the other.. they each have their own challenges. When a mother works, she comes home and does all the same chores a sahm would do. When a mom is at home, her children are also home all day, therefore making more messes & creating it's own other set of jobs. They balance out.

I think its 2 different things.

With working outside of the home your not dealing with kids and housework for 8+ hours a day. You come home from work then cook, clean and deal with tantrums.

Its just 2 different things.. kwim?
