The title says it all. Is anyone else here adopted or have adopted children? I was adopted at birth, my biological mom was 14 when I was born. Yes I have met her and she is a wonderful woman. She married my father and has since divorced him. He was not a good man, he passed away years ago from drug use. My husband is also adopted but he was in foster care first. He was two when his amazing adoptive parents came into his life. He was two, his sister was four and his brother six. I love both my adoptive parents AND biological mom very much and consider myself very lucky to have three people who love me.

My husband and I have considered adoption to add to our family but it will be a few years down the road.

Share with me either your story of your own adoption or your kids. I love adoption its so amazing

I was adopted when I was 15 months old. My biological mother had serious drug, alcohol and mental problems. My brother,  sister and I were all taken away from her and put in the care of an Aunt. My adoptive parents knew the aunt, and she knew they were looking to adopt because pregnancy was impossible for my mom. When BM's rights were taken finally, they adopted me :-) I have WONDERFUL parents and am so very thankful for them. God only knows where I would have ended up (probably much like my sister who wound up back in her care) had she "raised" me.

My husband. Adopted at eleven weeks from LDS family services. His bio mom placed him with them, because she was thirty and on drugs and knew the state would take him. From what we were told. He has no desire to met her. Says, he knows who his parents are. : )

I was born in Greece, my mother died giving birth to me and my father couldn't afford to take care of me and my siblings so he gave me up for adoption when I was 5 years old, he was very poor. I was very loved as my mother gave her life for mine and my father only wanted the very best for me and giving me up must have been a very hard thing for him to do, I can't begin to imagine, but so thankful for the selflessness given to me so I can have a chance at having a good life. I am one of those who are blessed as there's many children out there who need safe, healthy and loving homes. I think anyone who adopts children are amazing.

My hubby was adopted, as was his sister. He was through an agency or lawyer (?). His sister was through LDS Family Services. They have both talked to their birth families. His sister met her birth mom. Hubby has not, but is friends with them on FB. He always thought about finding them. A couple years ago, someone from a TV show (the one that reunites adopted families) found us. Said we were VERY hard to find (we move a lot & don't do change of address). LOL! It was good for him to get answers to his unanswered questions. He is the youngest of 3 children. He has an older brother and sister.

I was adopted at 18 months, and i have given a child up for adoption myself. i was adopted by two of the most wonderful people in the world, i have never sought to learn more about my birth mom because of how very happy and cherished I was i guess
