Very unhealthy and not likely to help with weight loss.

I would suggest eating atleast 6 small meals a day in addition to working out and drinking water.

So what if she ended up losing over 50 pounds in 4 months?

1 mom liked this

Unhealthy.  There is no way that the human body can sustain life on that amount of calories and that amount of exercise.  Two things will happen:  The person will lose a ton of weight initially, because they have a large amount of stored energy (fat).  However, this person will then gain back much of what was lost because a 600 - 800 cal/ day diet is not a reasonable, long term weight management diet.  While I could see going to starvation diet temporarily under strict supervision, I would also want to see this person eventually increase to 1400 - 2000 cals/day (depending on activity level, height, age, and other factors) to maintain health and weight lost.

That is called a starvation diet. It's unhealthy and dangerous. My husband does crap like that. I can't stand it.

The issue is that it was not real weight loss. She lost lean muscle mass and water weight, not fat. Once your body goes into starvation mode ( which happens by eating too few calories or under your Basal Metabolic Rate) your body stores fat as fuel and burns lean muscle mass instead. This muscle mass comes from your heart, liver, lungs and brain before it will begin on the fat stores.
Anorexic mode is 300-500 calories per day so 600 is not far from anorexia.

Its not healthy.

The person will lose weight but if say the person reaches their goel then they start adding more calories like an extra brownie lol, they would gain right away because the body is storing fat.

Increase water intake- decrease soda and the person will see a huge change in their weight with just that!
