DS was born with hypospadias, and for those that don't know what that is here is the definition:

Hypospadias is a congenital defect of the penis in which the urinary tract opening, or urethral meatus, is abnormally located away from the tip of the penis.

I was wondering if any mom's on here have had their DS's have this issue and how things went. I am very nervious about him having surgery at only 7 months old.

We did not have that issue but my son had surgery on his lip at 8 weeks and his Palat at 11 months.   If it is an overnight stay plan on holding him constantly to sooth him.Take lots of snacks and perhaps a laptop to keep you busy.   Good luck!!

My friend's son had this. I don't remember much about it (it was 10+ years ago) but he's a very healthy, active 11 year old. Good luck!

My son had this, but they would not do the surgery till he was at least a year old. I had it done at 18months. The surgery went well no complications gl!

My son had the surgery and it's painful for them afterwards. I was very gentle and kept globs of vaseline on it until it completely healed so it wouldn't stick to the diaper and cause pain. He seems fine now and can pee normally

1 mom liked this
I was told when Ds was 3 that he needed surgery to correct it. I didn't go through with it. He is 7 now.,My DH is the same way and we had no trouble getting pregnant.
