Okay so a while back my SIL (who is 17, 16 at the time) asked me if her boyfriend could move in with me since he got kicked out and according to him his parents were very abusive(he was 18 at the time). We agreed and let him know he was going to have to help with the basement at least 10-15 hours a week (he know how to do drywall and such and we were in the middle of redoing our basement at that time). We agreed to let him do this for a max of 6 months so he could get a job, and save money for his own place. Well week one went by and absolutely no work on the basement unless you counted setting up his xbox down there. I reminded him at the end of that week of our arrangement. Then week 2 went by with maybe a hour of work. I this time got a little more harsh and told him he needs to follow through with the agrement, explaining we are paying for his food, shelter and taking him places, or he needed to find his own place by the end of the week. Well 2 days later he moved in with MIL and SIL and according to MIL we were being too harsh on him.
Well he lived with MIL for almost a year. She bought him a car, and let him play xbox all day. Well finally she started getting fed up with it and told him the first of the year he needed to start paying rent. Well instead of paying rent he moved back in with his mom and sold his car MIL bought him to buy a Camaro. MIL was pissed. Well now MIL just found out that SIL (who is 17) is almost 3 months pregnant and the boyfriend dont want anything to do with her. I really feel bad for SIL but for MIL I kinda just want to tell her "I told you so", even though I would never do that.

Yup and I dont regret giving him the ultimatium to move out or do work. I just feel bad since MIL took him in and now SIL is prego.
