Could the tooth infection spread into my brain or other parts of my face? Is that possible does anyone know? Sorry if that sounds stupid but im in such pain right noe. Ill probably govto the hospital tomorrow for mri and cat scan but thought id get some opinions tonite. Thanks
Yes it can spread..I'd go in now...Good Luck and HUGS....Hope you get some relief..I hate tooth pain...
Quoting cjsix:Swish peroxide in your mouth for at least 60 seconds and then spit it out. It will help clear out some of the infection and help with the swelling and pain. You still need to get seen...but,it may help some in the meantime.
If you can't afford a root canal, have it pulled. That's what I had to do. It's a lot cheaper. That, or look into a dental school in your area and you can get it done cheaper. I hate tooth pain! Call around first thing in the AM. But try swishing a solution of half peroxide and half water on the side your tooth is on. It'll boil out the infection. Until you call tomorrow, that is. It's what I did until I could afford to go to the dentist and it really helped!

I know i need to get the root canal but i have no money and my parents are so tight on money also they cant help out. Im trying to look into low income dentists or a dentistry school. Im so scared of the infection going to my brain.
Yep, infection spread to my jaw and I had to have jaw bone cut out. I'm still in pain a week after the fact and the dentist said it would take 6 months to heal :(

Is it one of your bottom teeth by chance? When I had a broken infected tooth it was on the bottom and I felt like that. Best thing to do is get it taken care of asap. It can and will get worse real fast. Nothing I did ever touched the pain...it was worse than labor pains. You can warm up a wash cloth and put it on the side the tooth is on but it wont help for long if it helps at all. The pain will be all in your jaw and the infection could spread into your jaw. Best bet is to see what kind of payment plan they will do and get it done asap
