SURPRISE AT BIRTH?

Did anyone ever wait until they actually gave birth to find out the sex of their baby?  Was it your last?  What made you decide to wait?  Did you let another family member know and just you were surprised?

With my first, we were going to wait.  But we found out his sex when I ended up in the hospital for a week.  They did a sonogram, and the tech said, "OH wow, there HE is."  Dammit!! LOL.  But it was right there we chose his name.

I found out early with my girls, but I didn't believe it until they were born.

 I had my first in 1988...my dr would not do a sono unless he thought there were problems...I thought I was having a girl the whole pregnancy...my son was born May 3, lol

I found out at the 20 week ultrasound with both my kids. If by some miracle from God (that's what it would take!) I get pregnant with a third I will definitely wait until the birth to find out the sex. I now have 1 boy and 1 girl so if there was going to be a 3rd baby it's not like I'd have a preference since I have one of each now. Now that I've experienced it twice I'd want to be surprised.

We were told the first one was a girl and didn't find out it was a boy until right before he was born. The second we knew. The third I found out about a week before she was born.

I found out with both if my girls, my next one will be a suprise :)....i have a cousin thats had 5 kids and never found out with any of them!

Only with my first. I didn't want to know (I had a boy). With the 2nd delivery I was having twins so I wanted to know to be better prepared (I had identical twin boys). With my last one. I knew it would be my last. So since I had 3 boys I wanted to knew if I keep the boys' things or did we have to go out & buy girlie things. Yup, it was a girl.
