I'm realizing that I don't. I lived in NY my whole life & had loads of friends, we called, went for coffee, got together, etc. Then I moved to FL, now those friends are all "virtual", no one really calls or anything, and it's so far that the only visitor I get from home is my mom, not that I'm complaining - I love it when she's here. I do have 1 friend down here that I grew up with, but more & more I'm beginning to wonder about that too. I have endlessy listened to her problems, given advice when asked, been a steady, kwim. Whenever I say something about having a rough day or start to talk about an issue I might be having, the phone call ends, it's really f*cked up. I have met some ladies down here & every once in a blue we get together for a playdate, I have tried setting moms night out/in up, throwing all sorts of get togethers, but they don't really seem to pan out. I don't have anyone that I call & talk to on the phone that lives here, its freaking pathetic & I'm getting so tired of it. I put myself out there, but feel like I get nothing in return. Am I the only one that feels this alone, not that I'm alone, my kids are always up my butt, lol. But seriously.... am I really a loser?!?!
No. My Sisters are my only Friends and I'm fine with that.
Nope. I don't have any desire for IRL friends. Tried it, didn't work out and I don't think I can trust anyone enough after what happened last time. So I am here! Cafemom friends are all I need for now, lol!
A lot of moms don't have friends since their DH and kids come before friends now. it doesn't make you a loser.
-My friends live all over the country now. I do have PTO friends...but I wouldn't share anything personal with them. The one that hears my personal problems is my mom.
