So I went to McDonald's to get a sweet tea, the girl at the window didn't put the lid on tight, spilling it in my lap ruining my cell phone. I made a claim with them and told them I wasn't mad I just wanted reimbursed for what it cost to replace a total of 40 bucks, today I got a letter saying in wasn't their fault and they weren't paying. I am so mad.

The whole company sucks some giant ones. It doesn't surprise me at all. If they would screw dh put of 20 hours of work, then $40 is nothing. Sorry that happened to you.

Did it spill as she was handing it to you or did it spill afterwards?

Personally I always make sure lids are tight.

It's plastic held onto to cardboard paper...  What do you expect?  Unless she tossed it at you or dropped it in your lap, they're not responsible...

Mmmmm I love their sweet tea.

Sorry about your phone, but all in all I do not think they are liable to replace your phone.

I have to side with McDonalds, there is a certain risk you assume when ordering your food and drinks in your car.
