Teacher could have told us that BEFORE we bought Valentines! ~UPDATE!~
So today I show up at DD'd preschool with a bag full of valentines for her classmates. She was so proud that she wrote all their names herself and was really excited to give them to her friends.
When we get there, the teacher says to me and to a few other parents that brought Valentines with their kids "No Holidays!"
So...okay that's fine. But couldn't you tell us BEFORE we went and spent money and time on these things?!
Not to mention I clearly remember the kids doing crafts for Halloween,Thanksgiving and Christmas!
Ugh! I'm annoyed that now I have a whole bag of candy I am stuck with and a disappointed kid.
Update
Covert Ops Mission Valentine was a sucess!
We were the first ones out then handed the kids their Valentines as they were leaving.
Thanks to all that suggested that. I now have a happy kid,a whole classroom of happy other kids with candy and cards and no obscene amount of candy hanging around my house.
I always wait for a note about a party. If there isn't one, I call. I would be scared of making the ther kids or my kid feel bad. But, so far there has always been a party.
Well, the same thing happened with my daughter's preschool, but usually they send home notes ahead of time if they ARE doing something. You probably should have asked the teacher ahead of time to verify instead of assuming that they were going to have a party.
