Okay, saw this as a thought bubble and made me think.
A girl is willing to walk out of a relationship after 3 1/2 years because her man hasn't popped the question.
To me that sounds selfish.
What do you think?
If he didn't WANT to marry me and make that commitment to me at some point I would have been gone after 18 months-2 years.
But I never actually want to get married again...that's why I said it depends on the situation.
Is there something preventing them from marrying? Or an actual reason it's not a good idea?
It depends. Marriage means to a lot of people a long term commitment, and if I felt he wasn't willing to commit, Id leave too.
why would you say that's selfish? why stay with someone who doesn't want what you want? in the end, it probably won't work out anyway because even if someone compromises, they will never really be happy.
Absolutely I would. Marriage is somehting I want, and if after 3 1/2 years he wasn't sure I was the one for him....then as hard as it is, it's time to move on.
I would never settle.
heck if I know. The thought bubble just kinda surprised me. I never thought about leaving a guy because I thought he wasn't going to pop the question.
Quoting LiesLiesLies:
Depends on the circumstances.
If he didn't WANT to marry me and make that commitment to me at some point I would have been gone after 18 months-2 years.
But I never actually want to get married again...that's why I said it depends on the situation.
Is there something preventing them from marrying? Or an actual reason it's not a good idea?
i say if she wants to walk out over something this stupid then do the guy a favor and do it now. save him the misery and the heart ache when he actually does pop the question, you get married and you throw him the divorce papers cause he did not buy you a gift for V. day.
