I used to side with the victim, but now....sometimes the "bully" gets the benefit of the doubt

When you go in to a post, and let's say you've read two or three posts from the OP or maybe never seen her before, and you reply to her post. Then you scroll through the replies and see what seems to be a gang of women, or maybe just one or two saying things that seem out of sorts for the post you are reading. Do you stay out of it? Do you jump to OP's defense. I've learned in my time here in NC there is almost ALWAYS a back story. While I don't condone cruelty towards anyone, there have been many situations that have made me not give a crap what kind of flack someone gets. I'm not denying there are bullies on CM, but honestly I think they usually act alone and are not as prevalent on this site as I used to think they were. Just an observation.

When a kid got beat up in Chicago and his shoes stolen, it was reported as an act of bullying. Later the story came out that he was beaten up and his shoes stolen as retaliation for the bullying of someone else who's money he stole to buy those shoes.

While I don't think I would join in the beat down and shoe stealing in that case, I no longer gave a crap about the victim.

I think some people cause their own drama and cry victim later.

No one's going to weigh in on this one. Hmmm....you must all be opening your Valentine's Day presents. Is it only me that is bothered when people call Valentine's Day VD? Because I don't want to think about venereal disease on Valentine's.....just seems.........I dunno....unromantic almost.

I agree. But I've posted things where honestly shouldn't get out of hand and it does Im not shocked that we have a lot of young bullies just look at our adults.

I'm sometime no better I can be a nasty bitch too.

IMO there is NEVER a good reason or justification to BULLY someone. You can discuss/call out etc. and share your thoughts and opinions without being nasty/mean/ridiculous etc. There are things typed on here that make me cringe and make the bully/nasty person look immature and ridiculous. Like I said you can have an opinion and speak your mind without being a bully and ganging up on others! There is a HUGE difference in speaking about past reasons you feel the way you do and jumping on the hate filled bully bandwagon, saying things just to be nasty, calling people names, putting people down or just being plain mean.

I have not seen much real bullying lately, it is no where near as bad as it was say a year ago
