This is a link to a totally free, course on electronics and circuits from MIT.

I've already signed up, and am brushin up on my calculus now lol.

The thing is.. it's the worlds first totally automated course!

Would you consider doing something like that?

Do you think it's a good idea?

With the changes and development in education through the internet and media, do you think this will be popular or a disaster?

Any other thoughts?

I would do something like this...but not this particular course. I do not have physics II or linear algebra under my belt and I do not need another class to worry about.

Bump. I think it could be popular idea, especially for companies that want their employees to get continuing education. I'm actually considering taking it. I work with electrical engineers daily and have to work with all the specifications of their equipment. This might be a great value added course for my job.

Hehe. No, no need to pile on more when you've got enough.

But would you feel comfortable about taking a course that had no person involvement? I've seen a lot of comments saying it's just rubbish and they'd never do it unless people are involved...

It'd be perfect for you!

Estimated 10 hours a week, starts on March 5th.MIT. so you know it'll be good material.

It'll give you an insight into how they work and maybe improve your job...

If nothing else it'll show employers that you're using your own incentive to get educated...

I think if you're expecting to get a degree this way then probably not. But just a few courses, I see it as a great idea. Maybe even for older people who just want to maintain a skill or have something to do. This might be a great idea for then, especially with it being free.

For a degree course, no I don't think the technology is quite there yet...

But for courses like this I think it could work well. I'm taking it just because I'm interested in it. Nothing professional, I just enjoy learning about things like this and I've always wanted to.

I was actually just talking to an engineer yesterday and said I want to take some courses in technical terms and processes because my degree is in business management.

Well I think this would be good, its circuits and electrics, so you might want to brush up on your calculus and stuff.. but they have some extra parts to cover the math later.
It'll be interesting to see how popular this is and how it works out.
