for them to have an understanding of you?

I am not sure if that is confusing or not, but I see that most people lean one way or the other.  Some people seek out the perspective and understanding of others and welcome it and some people are more vocal about their perspective and sharing it with others.

Are you better at sitting back and taking in the perspective of others or are you better at sharing your own thoughts/opinions on various topics?

To have an understanding of others.

If everyone tried to understand others, everyone would be understood.

*ETA*  I'm good at sharing my thoughts and sitting back and gaining perspective.

I am better at learning others perpectives. We are not going to change each others ways of thinking so why bother. If i understood them, then it would be easier to deal with. I don't have to agree, but understand. I could care less what other people thought of my perpective, but if you rile me up, I will share.
