Super confused?? -UPDATE-

-UPDATE- So I called the OB yesterday to ask what it is they're possibly looking for & the nurse told me it looks like they're looking for a cyst or something. They never did a pregnancy test in office.

So two days ago I passed a pretty good size blood clot, about softball size, and I went into the OB to get checked out  also because I'm on the Depo shot. No periods or bleeding of any kind since October then all of a sudden I had the blood clot incident...

Fast forward to OB's office. She did a pelvic exam & said everything looked/felt normal to her, and she asked if I had been up to date on my shots (Ive only received two) & then asked if the nurse did a pregnancy test? I didn't know cause they literally have told me NOTHING at this point about what they think is the cause, what it might be, etc. So she tells me she wants to get me in for an ultrasound here soon, so as I'm scheduling my appt the nurse tells her everything was normal for protein in urine & all that I'm guess, then she asked her about a pregnancy test & I swear I heard her say "It looked like there was a little something there"... Then I heard the OB whisper something about using a longer stream dip test

So since they're not telling me what they're looking for, is it possible they're looking for a baby? IDK. The only thing she told me for sure is they want the ultrasound so in case something needs taken care of we can get me to a dr

Waiting until Monday is gonna suck :-/

They could be ruling it out. Not necessarily to look for a embryo. ultrasounds will be to check the anatomy of your uterus,to check for fibroids, ect

It just worries me cause I asked her if the pregnancy test showed negative, but since the nurse didn't tell me if she gave me one or not then she asked her & never gave me an answer... Thats when I heard them talking among themselves saying everything was normal and then that is when she said it looked like there was a little something there. And the OB told her to use a longer stream test?? It just bugs me they didn't give any real answers.

1 mom liked this

I wouldn't have left until they answered my questions and I understood what was going on and what they were looking for.  Try calling back to see if you can get any anwers.  Monday is a long time to wait when your worried and confused.

Agreed!  I've been in the medical field for 20 years.  I have always pulled patients aside and encouraged them to ask the doctor questions. And some of the doctors I've worked for always say, "any questions".  We have to be our own physician!

The nurse can't tell you anything without the doctor's approval..  I would have asked the doctor before leaving.  I would call the doctors office and tell the nurse what your confusion is and that you would like the doctor to call you back.  I'm a nurse at a doctor's office, they shouldn't have discussed anything in front of you if they weren't telling you anything.
