For someone to give notice and their boss just sends them home that day?

I'm REALLY hoping that's the case today :)

Depends really....when I was a supervisor if the person wasn't a wonderful employee, they would be sent hom., If they were in a key position we would take the notice and work them until their end date.

LOL depends on the company.  There are a few out here that if you give notice, they will pull you into the office for a "chat" while someone else boxes up your shit.

One company, when you give notice, they get security to walk you out the door right then and there.  The other one, they get security to walk you out (after "the chat") and then mail your box of belongings to you.

Ohhh I have an idea!!! Do you have any PTO? If you do, go to your boss and say "Listen, I need to use 2wks of my vacation  time...." when it's approved, say "Ok, here's my two week notice, thanks guys!"

It does depend on the company and position the person has.

It really depends on the boss.

If they do show you the boot, check with your local unemployment...you might be able to collect for that 2 week period.
