I am thinking about homeschooling the boys next year, I don't think my husband is going to be 100% behind it, I think he may have some misconceptions about homeschooling so I want to know
- What are some advantages to homeschooling?
- How expensive is homeschooling?
- What are the most misconceptions about homeschooling?
- How did you bring up homeschooling to your Spouse?
- Were they fully on board at first?
- How did you bring it up?
I am sure I will have more questions

My youngest DD is supposed to be starting Kindergarten in the fall. She has lots of very severe food allergies as well as other health problems. I am thinking of homeschooling her (for her safety), so I'm going to keep an eye on this post. =)

Cool, I think he may be a little scared for whatever reason, I don't know why so I am thinking if I can get some responses some of the questions I have ( which are probably similar to the ones he has) I can ease into it. and bring it up.

What are some advantages to homeschooling? It's one on one. It will work with your schedule with whatever you have going on. It's at the kids pace
How expensive is homeschooling? However expensive you want to make it. Depend on which cirricullum(sp?) you use
What are the most misconseptions about homeschooling? People think kids will have no socialization. That is NOT true!
How did you bring up homeschooling to your Spouse? He wasnt really for the idea unroll we went to his daughters graduation. He saw what kind of kids went there and he leaned over to me and said our kids will never go to public school. Lol.
Were they fully on board at first? Not at first but now he is fine
How did you bring it up?
what do you mean?

- What are some advantages to homeschooling? One on One. They learn at their pace, not what is expected with 25 plus kids in a class. No government control in what you teach your child. Your choice of curriculum.
- How expensive is homeschooling? Varies widely. It's less to home-school three children than what it cost to pay for one child at private school. (For us)
- What are the most misconceptions about homeschooling? All home-schoolers are religious and do not socialize. My children are more socialized now than when in private school.
- How did you bring up homeschooling to your Spouse? Just brought it up because we could no longer afford private school tuition, and our public school was not even a choice. (School is in academic emergency.)
- Were they fully on board at first? No. I did my research. Months of research and showed it all to my husband.
- How did you bring it up? Answered on #4.
I am sure I will have more questions
I think the answer to #1 is EVERYTHING. :)
Homeschooling can be nearly free.
Most common misconceptions would probably be that they aren't socialized. If you want them to socialize, you can set it up. Even if you live in a small town.
#4, 5, and 6 don't apply to me because I was single when I HS'd.
