I'm not a vampire, I don't want your blood. (PIOG)
I just came back from my OB/ gyn and from getting lab work. My hemoglobin is incredibly low, as is my ferratin levels, among other things. My Dr. said that I need a transfusion. I am not interested. I don't do other people's blood, plasma, organs, donating.... more power to those that give and receive. It isn't for me though.
So, is there anything that I can do to elevate these levels myself?
He prescribed iron pills, but we have yet to find an iron pill that I can keep down.
uhh my ferratin levels are HIGH. like, i just posted this....about having hemachromatosis. I have to see a hematologist next week!!
Try eating red meat....thats got iron in it.
When I was pregnant I had severe anemia and required 2 blood transfusions and I was on this small green iron pill.
This made me laugh.
Mcdonalds burgers are so gross. They have this weird taste to them. I don't know *gag*
Quoting kemmerer411:
Eat mcDonalds hamburgers. There Terribly unhealthy but jam packed with iron.
Instead of iron try taking folic acid...worked for me.
