A friend of mine is going through a divorce. His stbx is pregnant and is NOT taking care of herself and he also suspects she is doing some serious drugs!! He has already been fighting for emergency custody of
their 2 year old. What can he do to make sure she is taking care of herself or get her drug tested??

I live in Wisconsin. They passed a law recently that gives the state the right to incarcerate a pregnant woman who is using drugs if it can be proven that she is using, and that the drugs are known to harm the baby. I know it's drastic, but may be worth looking into. I know that in some situations, stopping using will cause more harm to the baby than good, though...

She doesn't go to the doctor. Her last pregnancy, she didn't see an OB until 35 weeks!!

Yeah, this girl is a mess. He doesn't even know if this kids his but he wants to make sure it's not fucked up by her actions but I'm pretty sure it will be. Sounds totally insensitive but it's true.

You can also put her in contempt of a court order if you force her into rehab and she doesn't go.

She doesn't go then she gets incarcerated for being in contempt.

He needs to go to court for emergency custody of the 2 year old and address this in court.

He also needs a good attorney.

They are going for the divorce and custody... But he doesn't know if there is any kind of intervention, or whatever, for this pregnancy
