Does SO/DH call you...

Does your SO/DH call you when he is out and about running errands to let you know where he is? I never asked my SO to do this, but he does. He says he has errands to run and he will call me after he leaves each place to let me know where he is. I get annoyed sometimes because i already know where he is going and what he is doing.

My friend was over with her DD having a playdate and my SO called about three times in two hours. Once to let me know the truck was fixed and he was done at the shop, then to let me know he had just left his buddys house and the third to let me know that he was at walmart and spent $200 and was heading home. She was amazed that he actually called when he had said where and what he was going to do before he left.

I like knowing where he is, but he always tell me anyways before he leaves.

So is this normal? How many of your DH/SO's do this?

Maybe a text, if he's on the way home to check in. No, he wouldn't, it would be nice if he would, but I can see how it would get old. I guess it's sweet though.

Mine does. He let's me know what he's doing and when he'll be back. I call it "checking in". I do the same when I'm out. It seems normal to me.

Yes, my DH does this... we have no trust issues... I never asked him to do it. I also call him a lot. Generally if I am in the car I have my hands free on and I'm talking to him. Considering the job I work I drive from location to location... I don't generally go more than a couple hours without talking to him. Again, not because I feel obligated to tell him what I'm doing or where I'm at.... I just like talking to him. He's my BFF. :P

He doesn't call me with every single movement unless he's by himself and that bored.. lol.  But he does let me know at least beforehand (and it could be a couple days before or just before he leaves, etc.) what his plans are.. we pay for so many minutes on the cell phone, so we might as well use them, right?  lol.

I think it got worse (or better depending on how you look at it) after I had to go do my own thing and I didn't have a cell phone for the first time in a long time.  I got home extra late because of traffic, and he was flipping out.  It opened his eyes to what I deal with.. :)

He doesnt unless he is out for a full day.  He does when he is at the doctors and i cant go with him or he takes dd out visiting other family members.  I dont call him since he usually has cell phone turned off.  If I am running around and we stop for food, I will call home to see what he wants or make that decision on my own.

My husband does and I call him as well. At the very least, we text. I was raised that you should always let someone close to you know where you are. He picked it up from me I guess.

He will sometimes text me when he leaves somewhere, to let me know where he's headed next. Like, "Leaving Home Depot. Walmart next. Need anything?" So many times, back in the early days of our marriage, he would leave to run errands and when be got home, it turns out I totally could've had him pick me up a few things (at places he was already going) to save me a trip.
