3 years ago she got bells palsy whish is a virus that parilizes half your face ,so one side is droopy, well she was chrismas break and by the time school started it was better.now she has it again! her dr says it very rare to get it once let lone twice so she has an MRI scedulded for next week to scan her brain.her dr refused to give her more then 1 day off of school so today I had to send her with a droopy face, plus she drools and can hardly eat since only half her mouth works, she is in 7 grade and you know how kids are,Im so afraid she will get made fun of :( I talked to the princible and told her to tell the teachers not to make her talk in class becauae her mouth needs to rest, she said she would, now the dr called and said her white blood cell count is low but it could be from the bells palsy. Im just so stressed,I dont have any point for this post just wanted to talk about it I guess

I really hope everything works out and its able to get taken care of. My foster sister has bells palsy and her parents never did anything about it and now there is nothing that can really be done and she struggles with it everyday. Best of luck to you and your dd. Hope everything goes well.

It sounds kind of like a stroke. I wonder what caused it. Keep us updated ok, and I hope it goes away soon. *Hugs*

{{{hugs}}} my daughter's former music teacher has the same thing -- they give him botulism shots periodically, in his face.  I wonder if she can get those when she is older? (I know, not pleasant)

I hope she gets better soon. I have also had it happen to me twice... Once when I was five, then again in the 9th grade. My doctor said that some times it is caused by stress. Does she have a lot going on right now that she is stressed about? I hope she gets better soon, I remember being so frustrated that my face didn't work right.

I developed Bell's palsy January 15,2011 and I still am having issues with it! My left side was affected and every once in a while it will begin to droop again, I'll be talking and can feel my mouth just droop! The thing that I hate the most is my left eye waters BAD whenever I eat! My girls tease me and say "is the food that good, that you have to cry about it?". The day before I woke up with the issue, I had a weird taste in my mouth like I was sucking on a penny, the next day I woke up and my whole face looked like the skin was sliding off, I went to the ER and all they did was patch my eye up, and scheduled an appointment with the ENT for 9 days later! I think that is why I am still having the issues I am! Also the fact that, about 6 months later, I ran into the bathroom door and hit the same side of my face, it bruised and swelled up so bad that I looked like the elephant man.
