Today was my 6 week post-partum check up. I made an impulse decision and got the Depo Shot... my OB wanted me to get Mirena but after all the IUD horror stories I just suggested the shot and I got it... I hope it was a wise decision.

My sister was on the depo shot for awhile and she had no major problems with it, the only thing she didn't like was the bleeding at random times. She is on the patch now and that has worked the best for her, she doesn't have any random bleeding and she gets her period in the week break that you take from the patch. If you end up not liking the depo I definitely recommend the patch based on what my sister has told me about it
I so disliked the depo. I gained weight, and lost a good amount of hair.
I did the patch... I'm thinking I should've gone that route. My DR was kinda like a sales rep jamming BC down my throat. SO and I were okay with planning and condoms...

I was on Depo for three years. No major problems. At least not until we decided to have another baby. Getting my cycle regulated took 18 months after the depo was stopped.

oh my...welp i hope that your side affects aren't too bad. i gained weight on it and then when i came off i got flung into a major anxiety issues that lasted months.
