I need puppy help

Lily is a 9 week old Golden Retriever. She's very sweet and we love her to bits. However, how do we go about teaching her that we are not chew toys? She pounces on the kids and puppy bites them.

The chewing of stuff on the floor I can deal with. We're trying to remember to keep stuff off the floor. But trying to chew us and the kids has to stop.

I've never had a puppy before...we got our Corgi when she was 2 and was past the puppy shenanigans.

When she does it - give her another command such as off or sit

and then give her something she can chew or play with.

At 9 weeks - it may take a few weeks for her to start to get it - and a few weeks more for her to actually listen.

If she is brand new to your house - you should work on bonding with her few a week or so - so she will starte to recognize you as pack leader - it will help training go easier.

She's teething and will be for a while ... Give a command like OFF and then give toys that are acceptable for her to chew on and lots of love :)

a mama dog disciplines her puppies by putting her mouth around their snout. When my dogs do that as puppied I clamp their mouth shut look them straight in the eye and say no. I don't look away till they do. When they look away they are submitting to you.

Yeah, I knew she is teething. We're pretty much doing what you guys are suggesting, so we'll just keep in and be patient. Thanks!

My dog just turned a year old and is teething still. We're just redirecting her attention.

Scooter had this issue when we brought him home we jsut redirected him with a chew toy or a bone it took him a bit to understand and sometimes he still play bites but it isnt as hard like it used to be and ONLY does it when the kids get him riled up.
